Unofficial IA Subject Guides

The first place you should look when you want to read up about your options in 1A is on the Tripos website here. However, if you want to hear from Christ’s students as to how they found the subject, this is the place to look.

Please read the disclaimer:

Hi Guys! As the new president, I inherited all of these guides as well as this website. The committee and I have reviewed some of the material, and we are working towards updating them. My general belief is that some of these guides can be quite unfairly dismissive of the challenge that these subjects can be, instead gallantly talking about how the writer found it easy or manageable. I don't see how that is particularly universal or helpful. My mission for this year, is to create impartial subject guides that talk more holistically on the positives and negatives of each subject and tell the things prospective and incoming students should actually know. With that being said, if you are unsure what subject you should take and you find these guides unhelpful, I recommend you email cccdarwinsoc@gmail.com, and we will find you someone to talk to ASAP. In the meantime, feel free to lightly peruse the guides. Any guides that the committee have approved will clearly say *Updated* at the beginning of the page.

Hope it's helpful!
