Our first and only talk for this term is next Frid Our first and only talk for this term is next Friday!! Who was Darwin? Apparently, he was based. Not a fan of slavery- I should hope so! Unfortunately though, he was in the thick of it, everybody knows: the voyage of the beagle started in 1831, and the trading of slaves was only formally abolished in 1833 so he explored South America in the times of slavery. He had a very progressive mindset towards race and felt that everyone was equal, and frequently says so throughout the book. He is a very important historical figure and hopefully this talk can highlight things you never knew about him! Come along, or else! 👀
