The University of Cambridge, and Christ’s College provide exhaustive information about the application process. This page is intended to be light-hearted, informal advice from Christ’s students.

Firstly, for any useful purpose, entry  requirements can be considered the same for all colleges of the university. However, Christ’s is relatively rare in not requiring any extra tests at interview (e.g. the TSA) – as far as we know so far.

Interviewers really aren’t trying to trick you(!), but they might be trying to see if you’re going to be interesting to teach in hundreds of two/three-on-one supervisions over the next three years. Don’t be afraid to tell them you have no idea what they’re talking about – I did – but be prepared to have a guess anyway.

We do our best to make interviews a friendly experience, but it is understandably difficult to make this a memorable day for nothing but the ‘right’ reasons. Don’t be put off if the whole experience is very a bit eccentric: Much of this is due to the historic setting, and the rest you’ll fall in love with by the end of freshers’ week.
